A Classic Evening - Fulford Harbour SOLD

From start to finish this painting was a joy to paint!
We're back on Salt Spring Island on a classic summer evening
with a pair of vintage gems cruising by each other
down in "feel good Fulford Harbour".
This painting is a gift from Jane to Robb,
(who I met one classic summer evening when I was painting en plein air
atop of Salt Spring Island's Mount Maxwell).
Again, Happy Birthday Robb!

And, to all that are wondering, YES,
I am happy to consider commissions
of Linnyland/Linnyism style paintings
for your gifts and otherwise.

Studio Cat

This painting is from last Thursday when I was invited
to give an acrylics painting demonstration
with a great group of artists,
the Painters Group of the Juan de Fuca Arts Club.
We all had fun during the adventure in Linnyland.
Next week I am doing a mini workshop
on painting Linnyism buildings
and I've asked the participants to bring a photo
of their home or studio to work/play from.
This painting and the photo of it will be an example
of where one might be going;
it has two painters painting (up there with their hands in the air)
on the fourth floor - plus one studio cat.

September - Turner's SOLD

It seems that it's the season of
small paintings.
(Four of my galleries have recently
asked for some of my small paintings.)
This little painting is of one of my favourite
Victoria landmarks, the Turner's building. Yes, I've painted it
a few times and tomorrow I'll post another.

Little Red Lighthouse SOLD

It seems that I paint
lighthouses
at this time of year.
Based on my composition I
thought that maybe it was from a desire
for balance and boundaries
during the holiday season but
maybe it's simply a need for more light
at this time of year
- or perhaps the message is to lighten up!

One Day Last Summer

This studio piece grew from,
'Late Afternoon - Lake Cowichan'
an en plein air painting from an
"one day last summer adventure" to Cowichan Lake.
(It was the afternoon that I swam amongst the
orange bellied newts.)
It's entirely possible that me painting this painting
may have inadvertently caused summer weather
to linger longer here in Victoria;
I was able to have breaky out on the deck
on the 4th of November - unheard of in our climes!
(Oddly, now that the painting is finished
the autumn weather has started...)
