Train and Elevator

In one of my recent posts, I mentioned

that I've been asking people who travel

to the prairies to bring back photos

of old wooden grain elevators.

Later that week, compliments of Bruce Sherman,

I received a grey day photo of Indian Head

Saskatchewan's big old giant.

Thank-you, Bruce!

Sunrise - Fisgard Light SOLD

This is the second wee Fisgard Lighthouse
that I painted way back in December of 2009.
(It's odd how December feels like forever ago!)

Sunset - Fisgard Light SOLD

This is one of two smallest

Prairie Lighthouse

I was born in Saskatchewan
and came to BC at age three, so I have
limited memories of
the prairies, but I do remember the
giant grain elevators. I've had an urge to paint
some of the old style wooden ones
and I've been asking people
who travel to the prairies to bring me back photos
of these rare old giants. The photo
that I used as a reference for
this painting came to me
courtesy of Shelley from her visit
to Elbow, Saskatchewan. Thank-you, Shelley!
