I'm a great admirer of Linnyland and Linnyism. This painting is so wonderfully inviting. It takes the chill off of winter and reminds us that spring and happy days outside are soon to come again.
There's a very interesting quality in this painting. It's as though the viewer is able to look through a glass door, easily opened, to arrive in that place, like a pleasant dream come true.
Oh Linny! I love your fantastical paintings. One cannot help but feel happy and carefree when they put themselves in your beautiful and whimsical scenes. How wonderful to make people happy with your images.
Hi to Linnyland!... better than Disneyland... and every bit as grand as Fantasyland...but on the otherhand... all share a common ingredient... a highly creative mind... and hand! Just... grand Linny! Excuse the silliness... couldn't resist!
Linny, this is a joy. I love the way you lay the paint on in strips of colour in the water and other places, it's so unique and luscious. The warm palette is very inviting. I'd love to know what's on your palette in the way of pigments for this painting. They work so well together.
Can I come stay in Linnyland, just for a few minutes to get out of the cold... I love the greenish-blue of the water, and how it is repeated in a less intense way in the hills, and how it contrasts with the orangey-ness of the rest.
The Truman show is a film about Truman Burbanks life, what he doesn't know is that his whole wonderful world is a TV set, his friends are actors, and he is the most famous person in the world, See video clip at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0rHH6LQdpI
I'm a visual artist living in Victoria BC Canada. I paint in either acrylic or oil in what is described as "a visit to a dream" style and/or Linnyism. To me, the visual world is a beautiful combination of colors, shapes and light swirling together in rhythmic patterns that feel like a mixture of Robert Gordon's "I Want to be Free" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". When I paint I bring my interpretation of this beauty to the canvas. Welcome to Linnyland and thank-you for looking at my interpretations.
