Red Barn Ruckle Park

Happy Canada Day!
As I was getting set to do this post
I realized that, although I use red paint in just about
every one of my paintings, none of my recent
"hot of the easels" (that are photographed)
are red enough for Canada Day. So,this is one from
a few whiles ago, it's of a barn that's
at Ruckle Park on Salt Spring Island.
(It was a red hot day on Salt Spring Island
when I painted this one!)

  1. Happy Canada Day Linny!
The fireworks were all the way across town, and
we had guests for dinner -- cherry crumble -- so I drove as quickly as possible (safely) to get us to the display. We go to a place on the beach where fewer people gather. So great. The cheers and clapping at the end of the fireworks. I love this country, and I love your beautiful painting!

Happy Canada Day in Linny Land.

    Take care,

    Barbara

  2. Thank-you Barbara and it sounds as though your Canada Day was perfect! (I'm so lucky, I don't even have to leave home to watch the Victoria harbour fireworks.)

  3. Both my husband and I have Canadian roots in our families and we visit the Parrsboro area every June where this year, our time fell on Canada Day. I am never so happy and peaceful as I am there. He still calls it Dominion Day ;)

  5. Thank-you, Mary! ("Dominion Day" brings back memories - is it Happy July 4th or Happy Independence Day in your world?)
