Midsummer Dream SOLD

Late this morning I went for
a "the last weekend of summer lake swim"
to the local lake that was the inspiration for this painting.
During the walk in from the road, along the trail to the lake,
the temperature didn't exactly feel like swimming weather,
but the lake water felt beautiful and
I'm grateful to have had one more
swim this summer.

  1. Hi Linny,
I love your treatment of this subject; it evokes the feeling of being under that canopy of trees approaching the lake with an anticipation that something wonderful is around that corner. I love your unique style, it is refreshing and honest. I also have spent a little time browsing other works on your blog and they are delightful. Do you mind if I add your name to my blogroll, then i can come back and visit often.?

  2. Linny, Perfect name for this painting as it is like walking through a dream or perhaps a fairy tale. How nice it must be to be able to view the world through your eyes!

Thank-you! Your comments all always so wonderful! How about if we each have one of your eyes and one of mine and see how the world looks that way?!

  11. Wow Linny,

This is so perfect. I saw a scene like this, without the water, when I walked my dog down a path in a nearby woods. I was filled with wonder, but would never have imagined that someone could paint that feeling so beautifully.
    The light is magical. Superb.

    Take care,

    Barbara
