The only thing I could want more of is to be there in person!
Love the posts under the eave, along the top of the building...well, and everything. You really know how to capture the essence of a place and draw in the viewer. Every home should have a bit of Linnyland!
Now this is idyllic. It reminds me of my brother's old VW van. He called her Ilse (a German name), and used to pretend she was falling in love whenever he saw another VW van. He would shout "No Ilse," and the car would swerve towards the other so called "boy" car. Don't worry the other car was always parked, and he was always in control, but everyone who road in the van with my brother knew about Ilse and laughed uproariously at her terrible tendency to fall in love. I am fairly certain that this painting would make Ilse swerve. She is of course gone to car heaven, but if she were still around. Watch out!
Thanks for the beauty and the memories of a very funny time.
Thank-you, Melinda. With or without your flying pony, you are always welcome in Linnyland! (I think that your idea of a bit of Linnyland in every home is brilliant!)
I'm a visual artist living in Victoria BC Canada. I paint in either acrylic or oil in what is described as "a visit to a dream" style and/or Linnyism. To me, the visual world is a beautiful combination of colors, shapes and light swirling together in rhythmic patterns that feel like a mixture of Robert Gordon's "I Want to be Free" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". When I paint I bring my interpretation of this beauty to the canvas. Welcome to Linnyland and thank-you for looking at my interpretations.
